The Sea to Sky Gondola officially re-opened to the public on Friday, six months after vandals cut its cables and forced the attraction to close.

People took advantage of the discounted tickets for Valentine’s Day and Family Day weekend (50% off!) to get a great view of Howe Sound.

“Our amazing team rose to the challenge and have done everything required to get us back up and running as quickly as possible so we can get back to connecting people with nature and the beauty of Squamish,” said Sea-to-Sky General Manager Kirby Brown.

The gondola is located in Squamish, BC.

A new 4.4-kilometre long main haul cable needed to be installed on the gondola, and thirty new cabins had to be brought in. The attraction also has a new security system to help prevent more vandalism in the future.

“The fact that the main haul cable was completely severed was, and still is, shocking, and the investigation with the RCMP is ongoing,” said Brown. “However, we want our guests to know they can travel to the summit on the Sea to Sky Gondola with complete confidence.”
