
Remembrance Day is being commemorated across Metro Vancouver on Nov. 11 with thoughtful ceremonies, musical performances, wreath laying, and more.
However, the important ceremonies also mean multiple road closures across the region, with commuters being warned that traffic will be impacted in several cities.
To help you prepare for Remembrance Day traffic impacts, here are some of the Metro Vancouver ceremonies that are closing roads next week.

Victory Square Cenotaph

Victory Square’s Remembrance Day Service is the oldest continuing annual ceremony in Vancouver, beginning in 1924. This ceremony includes the Last Post, the Lament, the change of the guard, wreath-laying, the parade of veterans, and more to honour our veterans.
Closures: Traffic around Victory Square will be blocked off for the ceremony and parade, which will march on Cambie Street onto Hastings Street.
When: Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025

Coquitlam Remembrance Day Ceremony
Coquitlam’s Remembrance Day ceremony and parade is hosted by the Coquitlam Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263 and is open to the public to pay respects.
Closures: The parade will start from the Como Lake Middle School at approximately 10:30 a.m. and wind its way along Winslow Street to the Cenotaph on Veterans Way at Blue Mountain Park for a ceremony starting roughly at 11 a.m.

Memorial Peace Park
Branch 88 of The Royal Canadian Legion invites everyone to attend a Remembrance Day Ceremony at Memorial Peace Park. The Maple Ridge ceremony includes the reading of the names of soldiers from the community who have died in wars, the laying of the wreaths, and a singing of the national anthem.
Closures: The event begins with a parade downtown starting at 10:30 a.m. There will be road closures and detours in place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ladner Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony

City of Delta
Branch 61 of The Royal Canadian Legion will host Ladner’s annual Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony. Veterans, community members, the Delta Police Pipe Band, and local service organizations will come together to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served Canada.
The parade starts at 10:40 a.m. in front of the Royal Canadian Legion in Ladner Village and will make its way to the Memorial Park Cenotaph.

Remembrance Day Celebration at Victoria Park Cenotaph
The service will take place at the cenotaph in Victoria Park at 10:45, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony and a Veteran’s parade returning to the armoury. There will also be a parade led by the JP Fell Pipe Band that begins at the Armoury at 9:15 am.
Closures: Sections of West 15th Avenue, Lonsdale Avenue, East 14 Street, and East Keith Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accommodate the parade and ceremony. The City of North Vancouver also warn commuters and residents that the 100 block of East Keith Road will be fully closed during the ceremony.

Cenotaph at šxʷhék̓ ʷnəs (Spirit Square)
Veterans and officials will parade through šxʷhék̓ ʷnəs (Spirit Square) starting at 10:45 am and then host a Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph. Those wanting to lay a wreath on Nov. 11 are asked to bring it to the cenotaph by 10 am and ensure that it’s picked up before dusk.
Closures: Drivers are warned that the drive-through lane between šxʷhék̓ ʷnəs (Spirit Square) and the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon for the ceremony.

Remembrance Day at New Westminster City Hall Cenotaph
New Westminster is honouring the service of veterans past and present with a Remembrance Day parade followed by a ceremony at City Hall Cenotaph. There will also be livestreamed coverage beginning at 10:25 a.m. on YouTube.
Closures: Several roads will be closed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., including:
- Royal Avenue (8th Street to 3rd Street)
- Sixth Street (3rd Avenue to Cunningham Street)
- Queens Avenue (7th Street to 4th Street)

Port Coquitlam Remembrance Service

City of Port Coquitlam
The Port Coquitlam Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133 is hosting its annual service to honour veterans on Remembrance Day.
Closures: The event begins with a parade along Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to McAllister Avenue, and finishes with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Veterans Park Cenotaph.
Roads in the area will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the parade and ceremony along Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to McAllister Avenue. Detours will be in place.

Richmond Remembrance Day Ceremony
What: The City of Richmond invites those wishing to reflect and remember with the community to an in-person Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph.
A parade will start at 10:20 a.m., and official ceremonies begin at 10:40 a.m. There will be two minutes of silence at 11 a.m., followed by the laying of the wreaths and a Richmond Remembrance Day reception.
Closures: No. 3 Road and Granville Avenue surrounding City Hall will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Remembrance Day at Memorial Arch
The Royal Canadian Legion – West Vancouver Branch #60 invites members of the public to come together and honour veterans and those currently serving in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Closures: There will be a parade starting at 10:45 a.m. from 18th Street and proceeding along Marine Drive to the Memorial Park Cenotaph.
