Doors Open Richmond

What: The 12th installment of Doors Open Richmond is a weekend-long, city-wide public celebration of heritage, culture, and the arts. Forty sites with an eclectic and exciting blend of destinations will open their doors and offer culturally rich and inclusive experiences for free. These destinations include heritage sites, museums, places of worship, green spaces, specialty business, art galleries, and artist studios.

Activate! Wellness Fair 55+

What: Find information and resources all in one spot to stay safe, health and well. Visit over 40 booths of local organizations and companies offering programs, products and services specifically for those 55+ years. Drop-in for blood pressure checks by Wellness Clinic retired Registered Nurses, bone density scans and dietitian consultations and health and wellness resources and information. Then take part in over 20 workshops throughout the day with a focus on transportation, mobility and health in order to stay connected to community. This event is for 55+ and registration is required.

Steveston Wine Fest 2019

What: The sixth annual wine fest by O’Hare’s GastroPub & Liquor Store will feature over 80 boutique wines from local and international wineries, as well as delicious food samples from local Steveston Merchants. This year will have a focus on interesting and hard to find wines from BC and beyond. Part proceeds from this event goto The Richmond Christmas Fund and other local charities.

Lions Club Sockeye Run Car Show

What: The 29th Annual Sockeye Run Car Show features classic cars, music and entertainment. With hundreds of cars, free entertainment, a variety of vendors, and yearly crowd pleasers, this event is an annual favourite.

When: Sunday, June 9, 2019

Walk Richmond – Shell Road Trail

What: Stroll along this rural trail lined with tall trees and shrubs for a unique walking experience in an urban city centre. For all ages and is dog friendly.

When: Thursday, June 13, 2019
Time: 7 to 8 pm
Where: Shell Road Trail along the Shell Road corridor from Alderbridge Way to Williams Road. Meeting spot: Parking lot at the East end of Francis Road and No. 4 Road (parking is limited).

The Price is Right Live

What: The live edition of one of North America’s longest-running game shows is coming to Vancouver and you could be their next contestant. This summer, The Price is Right Live will be coming to the River Rock Casino for several live shows. Contestants will get the chance to play games like Plinko, Cliffhangers, The Big Wheel, and the fabulous Showcase. Contestants can win cash, appliances, vacations, and possibly even a new car.

41st Annual Pacific Rim Kite Festival

What: Join the British Columbia Kitefliers Association for two days of kite flying at Garry Point Park in Richmond. Enjoy individual and team kite demonstrations, Rokkaku kite battles, teddy bear and candy drops, kite flying demonstrations, and more. Children can make their own kite at the Children’s Kite Making Workshop. Rain or shine.

Hamilton Night Out

What: One of Hamilton Community Centre’s biggest events of the year. Enjoy carnival inflatables, games, local entertainment, food vendors, plus a movie in the park to wrap up the evening.
