Snowboarder lost on Grouse Mountain saved with longline rescue

Search and Rescue volunteers with North Shore Rescue found a lost snowboarder on Grouse Mountain Monday and used a longline technique to get the rider to safety.

NSR shared a photo on Twitter of the snowboarder in the middle of a steep cliff surrounded by some trees.

The snowboarder was on Grouse Mountain but was lost outside of the groomed ski area.

A longline rescue, which SAR volunteers used to get the boarder out, is when a rescuer is lowered from a helicopter on a cable to retrieve the person in trouble.
