Vancouver bar to host German-inspired winter wonderland with boozy treats

Sleigh bells are ringing, Christmas songs are playing, and we’re one step away from putting on our ugly holiday sweaters. That’s right, it’s officially the festive season, and we’re looking for new ways to celebrate.

At this point, booking a last-minute flight to Europe is unlikely (unless you’re Drake, obviously). But that’s totally okay because you can get a taste of German holiday culture without even leaving Vancouver at Prost Haus.

The enclosed rooftop bar located on Granville Street is putting a German twist on the holidays with their first Winter Wunderland event. Taking place every Friday and Saturday during the season, it’s the spot to indulge in all your favourite holiday treats — with a boozy twist.

Round up your friends and get ready to sip on holiday-themed drinks like rum and eggnog and mulled wine AKA traditional Germain Gluehwein.

We all know the holiday season isn’t complete without a mug of hot chocolate (or three), and since it costs just $3 for a non-alcoholic option with whipped cream, why not get merry and add some Baileys, Grand Marnier, or Kahlua?

The toughest decision will be choosing what drink you want to order first!

Drinks/Prost Haus

When it comes to treats, boy oh boy does Prost Haus have a strong dessert game.

Picture a chocolate fondue with mini pretzels, Rice Krispies, strawberries, pineapples, marshmallows, and wafers. You can order all this for just $18 and snack to your heart’s content. Make it “naughty” by adding Baileys or Grand Marnier to the mix for $4 more.

Feeling creative? There’s also the option to decorate your own gingerbread and sugar cookies for $10 per person. Don’t worry, Prost Haus will supply you with all of the decorating tools.

Seasonal drinks and scrumptious treats aside, this Vancouver bar is literally decked out from head to toe with holiday lights and decorations, giving you plenty of cute Instagram photo opportunities.

But whatever you do, don’t get caught by Prost Haus’ naughty elf. He’ll be on site to challenge guests to a themed game. However, if you win, you’ll get a prize!
