Vancouver commercial real estate listing sites have been flooded with restaurant properties in recent weeks, and a notable bar is among the latest to be listed.
Last week, Daily Hive Urbanized reported on two well-established Vancouver Chinese restaurants that were listed for sale. Those listings indicated that the next owner would be able to dictate whether to keep those businesses intact or transition to new ones, pending landlord approval.
Since then, many more restaurant properties have been listed for sale, including two that seem particularly notable. It’s important to note that these types of listings can be speculative and, in some cases, are used to gauge market interest.
One of the restaurant properties in question doesn’t have an address listed and is classified as “confidential” on Realtor.ca.
The listing from Grand Central Realty describes the spot as a high-end seafood restaurant in English Bay, featuring a “stunning” 3,476 sq. ft. of fine-dining space. There are also 130 seats indoors and a 53-seat patio with views of the beach. The listing calls it a “major draw for both locals and tourists” all year.
It has been listed for $688,000.
“The restaurant holds a valuable liquor licence allowing service until 2 a.m. on weekends, supporting strong evening and late-night revenue,” the listing adds.
Whatever the restaurant in question is, the listing does not suggest that the new owner would be able to shift away from the current operation.
The other spot is a notable bar that is well-liked by residents, according to recommendations on social media and Google reviews, called the Painted Ship.
Located at 2884 West Broadway, the Vancouver bar has been listed for $278,900 by Re/Max Real Estate Services. The listing says that there’s a “no demo clause” for the property, meaning that fans of this bar won’t have to worry about it going anywhere anytime soon.
The listing states the lease is $12,500 per month, and the property itself features 2,000 sq. ft. of space.
Painted Ship regularly hosts live music and DJ events and features a diverse menu with speciality cocktails. The bar has also hosted movie screenings.
