Police searching for missing man with autism from Burnaby

Update: The Burnaby RCMP announced on Thursday morning that 49-year-old Suyong Lee “has been located and is safe and sound.”


Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who went missing on Tuesday evening.

Suyong Lee was last seen on the 7000 block of Salisbury Avenue in Burnaby at approximately 7:30 pm.


The Burnaby RCMP explained in a statement that the 49-year-old is autistic and has “little to no English skills.”

Lee is described as standing at 5’7″ tall with a medium to heavy build, brown eyes, and black, medium-length dishevelled hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue T-shirt, dark brown pants, and possibly grey slippers.

“Along with Suyong’s family, Burnaby RCMP is concerned about his well-being and is urging anyone who may have seen Suyong or know of his whereabouts to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999,” says Cpl. Michael Kalange.
