Police detain 30 people at a Surrey house party following gunfire

Dec 2 2019, 10:01 pm

Mounties temporarily detained all 30 attendees at a Surrey house party after somebody fired shots early Saturday morning.

Const. Richard Wright with Surrey RCMP told Daily Hive they received reports of gunfire at a house near 55A Avenue and Bakerview Drive at a party that began Friday night and stretched into Saturday morning.

Police detained everyone while they gathered evidence. All but two guests were eventually released, Const. Wright said.

Those two were arrested for separate, unrelated criminal matters.

Nobody was injured in the gunfire, and police are still trying to determine why it happened.
