Vancouver Police are anticipating that 30,000 people could gather around David Lam Park on Saturday to protest the Iranian regime.
Police said they are working with the protest organizers to mitigate the disruptions that such a large crowd could cause. Officers will be out on bikes, motorbikes, in vehicles, and on foot to manage crowds and “facilitate peaceful protests.”
They advise people travelling in the downtown core that there might be delays due to crowds and road closures.
This protest is part of the Global Day of Action, where diaspora Iranian communities and supporters are calling for the end of the Iranian regime, which has violently cracked down on protesters in recent weeks.
“History is being made. On February 14, 2026, Iranians worldwide stand together demanding freedom,” said Elahe Laali, in an email to Daily Hive, explaining the purpose of the event.
Numbers vary on how many Iranians have been killed, with a recent estimate at 7,003. As the Iranian regime has impeded internet access and international calls in the country, it is challenging for news organizations to verify the numbers independtly.
Amnesty International reported that January 2026 “marks the deadliest period of repression by the Iranian authorities in decades of Amnesty’s research.”
Vancouver Police said this protest is one of five separate rallies happening in the downtown core on Feb. 14.

Another anti-Iranian regime demonstration is happening at the Jack Poole Plaza from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Protests began in Iran on Dec. 28, 2025, with Iranians taking to the streets after their currency collapsed, along with high inflation, state mismanagement of resources, and declining living conditions.
