PNE announces whimsical "Winter Lights" Christmas drive-thru

Nov 6 2020, 5:34 pm

The PNE announced its holiday programming on Friday, highlighted by a brand new Christmas celebration.

This December, the PNE will transform the park into “Winter Lights — A Magical Journey to Santa.”

The two-kilometre experience will feature whimsical lights, special holiday characters, live performances, and plenty of seasonal food offerings.

The installation also includes a “Merry & Bright Forest” complete with nine different themes, as well as “larger than life characters and holiday magic.”

Shelley Frost, PNE president and CEO, says that Winter Lights will be an extension of the safe, family-friendly events that the PNE has been hosting throughout 2020.

“Throughout 2020 the PNE has succeeded in producing first-class, family-friendly experiences that allow people throughout the region to celebrate in a safe way,” Frost says in a statement.

“PNE Winter Lights continues this series, this time bringing Santa and holiday cheer to the Lower Mainland.”

The holiday drive-thru is open to guests of all ages and will be complete with your favourite Christmas songs. Organizers say that guests will even be able to join in the PNE’s own “Carol-oke.”

Winter Lights will take place from December 11 to 13, and 17 to 23 between 4 and 10 pm each day.

Tickets cost $39 for carloads of four or less and $49 for carloads of five or more.
