Pedestrian killed in Surrey collision

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Surrey Friday night.

Surrey RCMP said in a news release that the collision happened on Highway 10 near 183 Street. The vehicle was travelling westbound when it hit the pedestrian around 8 pm.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating, according to police. The person walking was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 10 was closed for a few hours between 182 and 184 streets while police investigated.
