A 20-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a garbage truck this morning in East Vancouver.

According to Vancouver police, the truck hit the pedestrian just after 10 am at the intersection of E 33rd Avenue and Main Street.

She was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

“Our collision investigation is still trying to piece together exactly what happened,” said Sgt. Jason Robillard.
