Parallel 49 Brewing's newly-renovated tasting room has insanely delicious eats

In case you haven’t heard, Parallel 49 Brewing has a pretty newly-renovated tasting room.
After five months of renos, this East Van spot opened mid-May and its been transformed into a space with tons of seating, a large outdoor patio area, an impressive digital display of the 40-plus brews on tap, and most importantly, it has an insane new menu of greasy, gooey, and gastronomically fabulous eats available daily.
The Parallel 49 Street Kitchen is a full-service indoor food truck located in the brewery’s tasting room. It’s vibrant spray painted exterior is a hint of what patrons can expect in the food they order here – vibrant, bold, and just plain fun.

The culinary team at Parallel 49’s Street Kitchen has put their own spin on classic deep-fried favourites like Crispy Onion Petals, Poutine, Fish Tacos, and the Corn Dog made with braised duck, corn bread batter, and topped with beer mustard, Japanese mayo, lotus chips, and popcorn.

The Fried Cauliflower bites are next-level and topped with Szechuan, toasted sesame, green onion, and cilantro.

The menu also boasts Pork Baos, Mac’n Cheese made with four kinds of cheddar, Fried Chicken & Waffles, and fall-off-the-bone-beautiful Crispy Chicken Drums topped with a trio of sauces and cilantro.
There’s also a house burger, a tuna kale salad, and a couple of desserts up for order that include churros and Mom’s Cookies – they are made in collaboration with the chef’s mom and the variety changes daily – awwww.

We recommend getting a bunch of dishes and then sharing between your table, because the food FOMO is real at this eatery.
Everything here is dressed to perfection and served in baskets with old-school checkered paper. The Street Kitchen is a welcome addition to the brewery, and we can’t wait to come back for a flight and some eats.
Parallel 49 Brewing is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm.
