Shocking footage shows pantless man attempting to drive Tesla off BC Ferries ship

A man who was attempting to drive his Tesla off a BC Ferries vessel on Canada Day is now facing multiple charges.

Shocking video footage posted to social media shows the man, who isn’t wearing pants, in a white Tesla, trying to drive off while the ship was still moving.

He didn’t get far before being reprimanded by RCMP officers.

The footage shows officers approaching the man while he is in the Tesla, removing him from the vehicle, and arresting him.

In a statement to Daily Hive, Sidney/North Saanich RCMP said officers responded to a disturbance on board a BC Ferries vessel bound for Swartz Bay from Maine Island at 11:34 p.m. on July 1.

“It was reported to police that a man was attempting to drive his vehicle on the ferry deck while the vessel was still en route to Swartz Bay,” stated Sidney/North Saanich RCMP Cst. Benje Bartley.

The man was arrested on the scene following a police investigation. The BC Prosecution Service has approved a slew of charges, including assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and obstruction.

Bartley noted that the man has since been remanded.
