North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market is returning for Spring and Summer 2019 starting on Friday, May 3rd, and every Friday afterwards until September 27.
With tons of choices for food, drink and entertainment, attendees can expect to chow down from 40+ food trucks in “hot food alley” and enjoy live entertainment all summer long.
Here are the best nine things for you to see and do while enjoying the Night Market this summer:
Beer Garden
Enjoy the spring and summer sunshine while sipping on an ice cold beer in the Shipyards Night Market outdoor beer garden, serving local craft beer and cider as well as Betty’s Vodka Iced Tea, and Nude vodka and gin sodas. You must me 19+ to enter.
Artisanal Market
The market this year will yet again feature a number of hand-made crafts, from jewellery, to paintings, to everything in between, these locally-made goodies were crafted with care and love for you to enjoy.
Farmer’s Market
With over 100 vendors selling fresh food and locally made products, the farmer’s market is a perfect place to do some of of your shopping and support local businesses all in one place.
Plant vendors
Potted plants are the new must-have millennial accessory, and now you need to look no further than the Shipyards Night Market. These adorable succulents are by Rodrigo Gonzalez. He uses succulents, tropical plants and adds hand needle-felted characters.
Live Music
On the Shipbuilders’ Stage there is live music until 10 pm, showcasing talent from all over BC for you to enjoy some tunes from local artists while you chow down, this year with two bands per night.
Food Trucks
There are 40+ food trucks in “hot food alley,” including for the first time ever a vegan double decker Buddha-Bus from the owners of Buddha-Full. There’s also Chowdery and Truckin BBQ, and some returning favourites include Reel Mac & Cheese, Rolling Cashew, Tacofino, Mama’s Fish & Chips, Taters and Urban Wood Fired Pizza.
Sweet Treats
Visitors should leave room for desserts such as Pocket Pies, Dolce Amore gelato, Chouchou Crepes, Kettle Corn, Slavic Rolls and these adorable fortune cookies from The Cookies Fortune Company.
Free Baked Goods
There will be a number of activations along the waterfront including FREE baked goods for the first 100 guests at the newly expanded Butter Lane Bake Shop at Lonsdale Quay. They are the only tea shop on the North Shore.
That North Vancouver View
You won’t have any shortage of things to eat, drink or do while you’re at the Shipyards Night Market, but if you find yourself wanting to enjoy your snacks and sweet treats in peace, a stop along the pier to watch the sunset over the water doesn’t sound like a shabby way to end your night.
