Grouse Grind closed on Monday due to icy conditions

The popular Grouse Grind trail in North Vancouver has been closed following this weekend’s cold snap, which brought sub-zero temperatures to parts of the Lower Mainland.

Metro Vancouver made the announcement on Sunday, adding that the closure would remain in effect for Monday as well due to, “unsafe icy conditions.”

Anyone who uses the BCMC Route at the Grouse Mountain Regional Park is also being asked to bring microspikes and ensure that enough time is provided to finish hikes before sunset.

Late last week, a modified Arctic airmass brought below seasonal temperatures to British Columbia as well as early season snowfall on North Shore mountains.
