3 new bakeries and cafes in Vancouver you need to try (PHOTOS)
There’s never a shortage of amazing places to hang your hat and grab a bite in Vancouver, especially when it comes to bakeries and cafes.
Lately, there have been some pretty sweet openings – both metaphorically and literally – in the city, and they are offering up some epic eats you’ve got to try if you haven’t already.

Here are three new Vancouver bakeries you need to try right now.
Livia
The new spot opened January 15, at 1339 Commercial Drive, the former location of Al Basha and Elizabeth’s Bakery. The space has been transformed into a charming and Insta-worthy bakery and cafe, which also boasts a liquor license and a soon-to-come-in-spring 16-seat patio which will surely quickly cement it as a popular neighbourhood destination to relax at year-round.

Iktsuarpok Coffee Stand

While some local coffee purveyors are going big in 2019, one new spot is keeping things simple and small. Iktsuarpok Coffee Stand is the city’s newest destination for caffeinated beverages and the adorable new outpost consists of a window at 30-425 Carrall Street in Gastown. Taking the place of Fetch Hotdogs, Iktsuarpok serves up a killer matcha latte and espresso-based drinks using Moving Coffee beans from its hole-in-the-wall location.

The Bench Bakehouse

The area’s newest artisan bakery, The Bench Bakehouse, opened its doors at 100-1641 Commercial Drive on January 22. The location is in the Il Mercato shopping centre and it specializes in artisan breads, French-style pastries and will serve local Pallet Coffee. The Bench Bakehouse is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 am to 7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 5 pm.
