New and limited time feature menus, fresh concepts, expansions from well-established eateries, and last call at soon-to-close-forever spots – it amounts to some serious eating in Vancouver this month.
Here are 14 new, updated, and notable restaurants and bars to try in or around Vancouver.
In honour of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s spring exhibition, Takashi Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg, Market is launching a five-course tasting menu inspired by Murakami’s work. This will be available from February 5 to 28.

Dockside has recently relaunched their Sunday brunch service from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. With a menu that blends lunch favourites, appies, and classic options like omelettes, eggs Benedicts, and pancakes. You can’t go wrong with brunch at this spot on Granville Island.

On Saturday and Sundays from now until February 25 Joe Fortes is offering their annual celebration of one of our favourite brunch items – Benny Bonanza. This mid-morning event gives patrons a choice of Joe Fortes signature Eggs Benedict in three flavours – each only ringing in at $9.95.

For one month a year Cafe Medina asks you to brunch for a cause, and in return, they’ll let you reserve a table during their insanely-popular mid-morning meal service. The only catch? Make a donation when you reserve throughout the entire month of February (proceeds going towards The BC Hospitality Foundation).

Blue Water Cafe has been concocting weird and wonderful culinary creations from the sea for their annual Unsung Heroes Festival for 14 years, and this year’s selection is no different. The special menu will be available daily February 27.

Blue Heron Creamery will be open on February 15. This is Vancouver’s first ever vegan cheese shop and they will offer six different varieties to start.

South Korean dessert spot Milkcow is officially up and running and ready for business. This famed dessert cafe is known for its unique organic milk soft ice cream and unreal selection of toppings along with other epic eats like Watermelon Soft Serve Sandwiches, Rainbow Cake, and cotton candy-topped sundaes.

To celebrate the opening of their new Richmond location, Westcoast Poké is giving its patrons the gift of FREE poke on Friday, February 23. This spot – located in the Ironwood Plaza just off of Steveston Highway – will be the poké purveyor’s second outpost.

Reopened and ready for action – CHOMP vegan eatery has a new space for you to check out. Patrons can expect the same weekly meal prep, take out, catering, delivery, and office lunches from CHOMP, along with delicious new local additions to the menu like Bayo Juice and donuts from the Gluten Free Epicurean.

Just a few weeks left to wait. Promising classic Cuban cocktails (among their own creations), share plates, and good vibes, this new Main Street bar is opening up in the former Charlie’s Little Italian space this month.

Make reservations in advance for this spot’s Chinese New Year set menus. Holiday dinner specials are available from 5:30 to 10:30 pm and include dinner for two and four people. There will be beer pairings from Red Truck Brewery for this feast as well.

The second location of this beloved local plant-based pizza maker is set to open at the end of the month and we can’t wait to have double the pizza. This will be a must-hit spot for those in the Kitsilano/Point Grey area.

Popular Italian eatery Pronto Cafe is closing its doors likely by the first week of March, according to a recent Facebook post from the restaurant. This includes the closure of Prontino – a wine and cocktail bar that opened in 2014 in the building as an expansion of the business. This means February is your last month to head here, so make sure you do.
