Second-degree murder charges have been laid in relation to the homicide of Tee Bor, a 68-year-old Surrey man.

The incident took place on February 17, 2019, when the Surrey RCMP received reports of an assault in the 13300 Blocks of 105 Avenue.

Upon arrival, investigators say they found Bor unconscious, with injuries consistent with foul play. He was rushed to the hospital but passed away from the wounds.

The death was deemed a homicide and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the investigation.

Police are reporting that after “an extensive neighbourhood canvass” and numerous interviews, 26-year-old Pee Lee Pl of Surrey was arrested on July 19.

He’s been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Bor and will appear in provincial court later today.

“IHIT would like to thank its many partners whose contributions helped advance this investigation to today’s outcome,” says Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT. “Our deepest condolences and sympathies go out to the family of Mr. Tee Bor and anyone else that was affected by his loss.”

Anyone with information, who has yet to come forward to police, is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-551-4448.
