Please note: As recommended by BC’s provincial health officials, gatherings of any kind and unessential travel in the province is not recommended at this time. Please adhere to COVID-19 health and safety measures, including proper physical distancing and frequent handwashing. If you are sick, please stay home.

Mt Seymour Ski Resort on Vancouver’s North Shore opened for the season on Tuesday, December 1, meaning all three of Vancouver’s North Shore ski areas are now welcoming guests.

Those who got to the mountain on opening day were rewarded with clear blue skies offering some epic views of the coast mountain range.

Mt Seymour was the last of the three mountains to open, with Cypress opening first on November 13 and Grouse Mountain following on November 20.

Metro Vancouverites who are keen to hit the slopes have been advised by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry to pick one of the local hills instead of venturing further to Whistler or one of the Interior mountains.

All three local ski resorts have new COVID-19 safety precautions in place this year, including requiring face masks in all indoor spaces and in lift lineups.
