Things are getting a little switcheroo at Mission, Curtis Luk’s Kitsilano restaurant.
The West 4th spot will still focus on sustainable, modern fare with an applauded wine and cocktail program, however Luk and his team will now take a deeper cue from their surroundings.

“The core of the re-invigorated Mission will be a Northwest Pacific a la carte menu truly focused on the bounty and history of our amazing region,” explains a press release from Mission.
The change is attributed to Luk’s recent stint on TV’s Top Chef Canada All-Stars. (The win, however, went to Calgary’s Nicole Gomes, with Luk’s Kitsilano neighbour, Fable’s Trevor Bird, making it almost to the end.)
Mission will now do a more family-style shared-plates offering, and you can expect to see dishes like “slow-cooked lamb belly with birch syrup and rye and potato bread, and maple-smoked pork jowl with rhubarb.”
“It feels like we are opening a new restaurant and I am excited for past guests and new ones to come and experience the new Mission in Kits,” adds Luk.
Mission will re-launch on July 13, and will be open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner and Saturday and Sunday for brunch.
