Michael Bublé makes hilarious offer to Canucks free agent target

The Vancouver Canucks are ready to back up the Brink’s Truck for Jake Guentzel, but because of the salary cap, there’s only so much money they can offer.

Enter Michael Bublé.

The Burnaby-born singer is also a big-time fan of the Canucks. And he’s doing his part to sweeten the deal.

“He can move in with me and my family and sign a hometown discount,” Bublé joked in response to Canucks fan Chris Conte on X. “Gonna leave the door open.”

For the sake of Guentzel’s on-ice performance, I don’t think he’ll share mushrooms with him.

Bublé was surely joking, but there’s no doubt that he’ll do whatever it takes for his beloved Canucks. He once cancelled a concert so that he could watch the Canucks play in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, after all.

Bublé co-captained a team with Quinn Hughes at the All-Star Game in February and has spoken about how he keeps in touch with Canucks players.

He also showed up at Rogers Arena during the playoffs, firing up the crowd.

Guentzel would be a huge addition to the Canucks, if they can get him. Expected to be one of the top unrestricted free agents available on July 1, Guentzel scored 77 points in 67 games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes. He has scored 40 goals in a season twice before in his career and was a big part of Pittsburgh’s Stanley Cup-winning squad in 2017.

The Canucks are reportedly ready to offer Guentzel as much as a seven-year deal worth $9.5 million per season.

Now, is he a Michael Bublé fan?
