MetroCon returns to Burnaby this weekend, and it’s packing some major star power for the Halloween season event.

Part of the 2026 Burnaby Halloween Festival, MetroCon features celebrity guests, vendors, panels, cosplay, and more at Simon Fraser University’s Convocation Mall from Oct. 16 to 18.

This year’s headliners include two fan-favourite actors who are familiar with the superhero scene: Brandon Routh and Tyler Mane.

“With Michael Myers himself coming to Burnaby Mountain alongside stars of Ginger Snaps, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Gremlins, The Cabin in the Woods and more, MetroCon adds a major horror and pop-culture destination to Burnaby’s Halloween season,” said Norm Coyne, organizer of MetroCon, in a release.

Routh has several super roles under his belt, including portraying Superman and Clark Kent in Superman Returns, and The Atom and Ray Palmer in Vancouver-shot Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

He is also well known for his role as Todd Ingram in the film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Tyler Mane

Mane portrayed horror icon Michael Myers for two Halloween films, and also brought the Marvel villain Sabretooth to life in X-Men and Deadpool & Wolverine.

The former pro wrestler also continued his work in the superhero genre with roles on TV series Jupiter’s Legacy and Doom Patrol.

Other celebrity guests in the MetroCon lineup include:

  • Emily Perkins (Ginger Snaps, IT, Supernatural)
  • Zach Galligan (Gremlins, Gremlins 2)
  • Jennifer Rubin (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors)
  • Ken Sagoes (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & 4)
