There’s still time to enjoy some great seasonal events around town, and we’re here to help with a roundup of scary things to do before the end of the month.

From trick-or-treating celebrations to howl-arious comedy shows, here are 12 Halloween events in Vancouver to check out before the end of spooky season.

Haunted Village: Legends, Tales and Other Stories

What: Burnaby Halloween Festival, presented by Tourism Burnaby, offers a wide variety of eerie events and activities throughout October.

One of the featured attractions is Burnaby Village Museum’s family-friendly Haunted Village: Legends, Tales and Other Stories, transforming the 10-acre historical attraction into a magical world.

The open-air event invites guests to go on a unique self-guided walk and discover wondrous tales lifted from storybook pages and transformed into stunning displays.

When: Oct. 23 to 25 and 30 to 31, 2026

What: Nightshade Market and Ravens Veil team up for a Halloween celebration at the Croatian Cultural Centre. Explore the Harvest Market and discover artisans and makers from around B.C. Costumes are welcome at the witch-run, all-ages event.

What: Science World is transforming into a spooky playground for Science World After Dark: Sinister Science. Check out exciting performances by Neil E. Dee and his Danger Thrill Show, plus host Vincent Rice.

There will also be a talk explaining how insects can help gather information about crime scenes, and a sinister science showcase with the SFU Centre for Forensic Research, Vancouver Police Museum and more. Costumes are highly encouraged, though make sure you follow Science World’s costume policy for a safe and inclusive night.

Parade of Lost Souls 2026

What: The Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret’s Parade of Lost Souls is a thrilling evening of performance, music and art. The festivities are free to enjoy, though donations are appreciated to keep the spooky tradition alive.

This year’s theme is Trickster’s Treat, and the paranormal procession will begin at the intersection of Vernon and Napier Street. There is also a family-friendly Parade of Little Souls for children planned for the evening, and an after-party to keep the fun going.

HowlOver Canada

What: Immersive flight ride attraction FlyOver is transforming into HowlOver Canada. During the Halloween experience, passengers will meet Biker Mama the Witch and her band of spooky sidekicks before taking off on a flight through the night sky. The annual event also includes an original eerie pre-show and lots of chilling decorations.

Spooky Postcard Show 3

What: One More Life hosts the third edition of the Spooky Postcard Show, showcasing 60 artists and their postcard-sized eerie artworks from Oct. 23 to Nov. 14.

Opening weekend includes an opening reception with a snack and beverage bar on Friday, with raffle prizes. There will also be an afternoon show on Saturday with a workshop by donation.

The brewery has partnered with Pawsitive Animal Rescue and Endless Pawsabilities Rescue Society for the event. You can learn more about both organizations and meet some adorable pups from 1 to 3 p.m. each day. Part of the Burnaby Halloween Festival.

Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival

What: ‘Tis the season for macabre movies, and horror fans will be in heaven when the Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival (VHS) returns this month.

The ninth annual VHS is haunting screens in Vancouver from Oct. 14 to 18. The full festival lineup features over 60 short films and 15 feature-length films from around the world. VHS has red-carpet events, industry panels, a table read series, and more.

Fright Nights at Playland
