The official start of summer is just days away, but it looks like the Metro Vancouver weather forecast won’t be very welcoming as we enter a new season.
While the region has been graced with (mostly) clear skies and heat over the past few weeks, the upcoming forecast shows signs of a weather 180, as rain and clouds are on the way.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), sunshine and warm temperatures are expected to appear on Tuesday and Thursday, but aside from those two days, wet weather and overcast skies are anticipated.
Wednesday will see a high of 18°C with a chance of showers. Friday (June 20) will see cloudy conditions with highs of 15°C. The rain will settle back in on Saturday, and sadly, the sun won’t be making an appearance on Sunday, either.

ECCC
While summer in Metro Vancouver may be off to a gloomy start, the region’s seasonal forecast model is predicting warmer temperatures for the remainder of June, July, and August.
In a previous interview with Daily Hive, ECCC meteorologist Bobby Sekhon said the agency’s “model output” predicts an 87 per cent probability of âabove normal temperaturesâ for the summer months.
While you may need your umbrella for the next few days, don’t put away your sunscreen and bathing suits just yet.
