Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for sections of Metro Vancouver, particularly for eastern sections of the region, as well as into the Fraser Valley.
In the statement, Environment Canada said the hot and and humid weather conditions are creating elevated pollution levels. These elevated levels are “expected to continue today and potentially longer as the hot weather continues.”

Exposure to air pollution is “particularly a concern for children, the elderly, and those who have underlying medical conditions such as lung or heart disease, the agency said.
The sunshine is forecast to continue until at least Wednesday, with daytime temperatures averaging in the mid-20s.
