A BC man was pulled over after police officers observed him struggling to maintain his lane, discovering that the impaired man was on his way to work as a semi-truck driver.

Abbotsford Police shared the discovery on X, posting that the 45-year-old Class 1 driver was impaired by alcohol.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop to “check sobriety” and pulled him over at 6 am this morning.

In the X post, Abbotsford Police said, “Can you believe that he asked us to cut him a break.”

The 45-year-old impaired BC semi-truck driver was punished with a 90-day driving suspension, and his vehicle is to be impounded for 30 days.

Many people reacted and responded to the X post.

And then they hit the overpass,” one person joked.

Some suggested that getting caught driving impaired should be an “immediate removal of your licence, not a suspension.” Others were confused as to why he wasn’t charged with impaired driving. We’ve contacted the Abbotsford Police Department for additional details.
