Metro Vancouver to enjoy sunny stretch after a drizzly start this weekend

Oct 4 2025, 4:30 pm

After a brief spell of drizzle, Metro Vancouver is in for a stretch of sunshine and calm weather, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

Meteorologist Derek Lee told Daily Hive Vancouver on Friday afternoon, Oct. 3, that the region will see “nothing major coming on the weekend,” adding that skies should clear by midday Saturday.

“It is going to be sunny for at least Sunday and probably into Tuesday,” Lee told Daily Hive in an interview.

Lee said temperatures will stay close to seasonal averages, with daytime highs near 17°C for coastal areas and up to 20°C inland.

“At this time of year, a normal daytime high is around 15 to 16 degrees, so what we have on the forecast is around 17 for coastal areas,” he explained.

According to the ECCC forecast issued at 5 a.m. PDT on Oct. 4, the city could see light drizzle early Saturday before clearing around noon.

Fog patches may form overnight as skies remain mostly clear and temperatures drop to about 8°C.

Sunny conditions are expected through Friday, Oct. 10, with highs between 17°C and 19°C across most of Metro Vancouver.

The dry spell will follow several days of rain earlier this week.

“Just some nice sun, perhaps, all over the weekend… if we don’t get too much low cloud,” Lee said.
