It was a big night for lottery players in Vancouver, because both the first and second place prizes in Lotto 6/49 were attached to tickets sold in Metro Vancouver.

Someone who purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket in Burnaby, BC is $5-million richer.

The BC Lottery Corporation revealed the ticket that matched all six numbers in the Saturday, February 22 draw was sold in Burnaby. The person has not yet come forward to claim their prize — but there’s no rush, the winner has 52 weeks to claim the money.

The second-place prize of $221,196.90 was also sold in Metro Vancouver — from a location in Vancouver proper. The BCLC has yet to announce who that was, too.

Lotto 6/49 is a Canada-wide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 7:30 pm Pacific.
