If you were planning on refilling your growler with one of your favourite craft breweries’ beer before the weekend, then think again.

Several local breweries have made the announcement that they will no longer be refilling growlers, popular 64 oz vessels that allows customers to grab brews in a more environmentally-friendly way.

Notable brands that have stated they won’t be refilling growlers include Ravens Brewing Company, R&B Brewing, and 33 Acres to name a few.

Some spots likeĀ East Van BrewingĀ andĀ Bakery Brewing in Port Moody will only be filling new growlers in an attempt to actively work against the spreading of COVID-19 which means you need to leave your personal, used growlers on the shelf for a while.

With coronavirus on the rise, theĀ BC Ministry of HealthĀ is reminding individuals who attend events and large gatherings to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if youā€™re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. Also, due to unexpected cancellations, please check the event you plan to attend is still taking place. Keep up with COVID-19 newsĀ here.
