Residents in Metro Vancouver have had their fair share of bear spottings this summer and one man got some up close footage in Port Coquitlam.

Scott Elliott was recently visiting his girlfriend when he spotted a bear lounging out on her front lawn. He managed to capture a video of the cheeky bear while watching from the window.

“Warning: Bear Nudity. 19+” wrote Elliot in the Facebook caption.

Bears have been seen roaming in Metro Vancouver neighbourhoods, beaches, and parks.

The Greater Vancouver Regional District is reminding residents of the following bear safety tips:

  • Never feed a bear; do not leave any garbage or unattended food
  • Clean up garbage and food immediately; use bear-proof bins provided
  • Never approach a bear
  • Change your route or plans to avoid bears

If you see a bear, stay back 100 metres. If you encounter a bear, stay calm and slowly back away.
