Police investigating after man stabbed in Burnaby

Police in Burnaby are investigating after a man sustained serious injuries in a stabbing on Monday night.

According to Burnaby RCMP, the incident took place at approximately 8 pm in the 3700 block of Venables Street.

Upon arrival at scene, frontline officers found the 40-year-old male victim suffering from serious although non-life-threatening injuries.

At this stage in the investigation, police said they believe this incident was targeted.

Now, Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team has assumed conduct of this investigation and are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the attack.

Police said they are also aware “that a suspect vehicle was seen fleeing the area at a high rate of speed,” and they’d like to speak with anyone who may have seen a vehicle “being driven erratically” in the area at around the time of the incident.
