A Vancouver man is in custody after reportedly evading a traffic stop on Tuesday morning.
According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), the incident took place just after 2 am. Police officers noticed a “suspicious vehicle” around the area of 39th Avenue and Cambie Street.
The car was believed to be related to a number of break-and-enters in the area. An email from the VPD says that when police initiated a traffic stop using lights and sirens, “the vehicle took off.”
The suspect in question reportedly hit several other police cars before being taken into custody at 51st Avenue and Main Street.
