Man arrested after assaulting Vancouver bus driver in 'unprovoked' attack

One man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting an on-duty bus driver in Vancouver this week.

According to Transit Police spokesperson Sgt. Clint Hampton, the incident took place in South Vancouver on Tuesday (April 23), around the area of 45th Avenue and Cambie Street.

Hampton told Daily Hive the assault “appears to be an unprovoked” attack and said charges will now be recommended against the suspect as a result of the incident.

He described the suspect as a 49-year-old Surrey resident.

The driver was hurt in the incident, although Hampton described the extent of his injuries as “minor.”
