Who would you first tell the good news if you won the lottery? Your best friend? Your next-door neighbour?

When Vancouver resident Lindsay Muldoe learned that she won $1 million from the October 30, 2024, Lotto 6/49 draw, the first person she wanted to tell was her mom.

“I was visiting family and when I saw the winnings in my PlayNow account, I thought it was a mistake,” Muldoe shared. “I woke up my mom and then called my husband. They were shocked and excited!”

Muldoe added that she has “lots of exciting ideas” regarding how to spend her windfall, including buying a home. But for now, she wants to keep things as normal as possible.

When asked how it feels to win, she admitted that she was still stunned.

“I’m still in shock but it will be a good Christmas this year!”
