Nearly 500,000 Lime e-scooter trips made during FIFA World Cup in Vancouver

Lime says its e-scooter share system in Vancouver carried riders on nearly half a million trips during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
New figures released by the company this week show that just over 498,000 Lime rides were taken during the tournament period, covering a combined distance of more than 1.2 million km.
Demand was particularly strong on days when Canada played at BC Place Stadium, as well as near major tournament destinations.
Lime recorded more than 172,000 trips beginning in and near BC Place Stadium and a similar number ending near those locations.
June 24 was Lime’s busiest day of the tournament in Vancouver, with trip volumes coming in 136 per cent above those recorded on a typical day. Canada played a match that day.
Canada’s opening match on June 18 also drove a substantial increase, with Lime reporting 106 per cent more trips compared with ridership during the weeks leading up to the tournament.
“Vancouver showed how shared micromobility can help a city move during major events,” said Carling Dick, Government Relations Lead at Lime, in a statement.
Ahead of the tournament, Lime expanded its local operations to handle the anticipated surge in demand and help manage e-scooter parking around busy event areas, including next to the PNE fairgrounds — where the FIFA Fan Festival was held.
There were also stations outside Science World — where the starting point of the “Last Mile” walking route to BC Place Stadium was located — and on Granville Island.
A special discounted Fan Pass was offered during the tournament.
“Ahead of and throughout the tournament period, we expanded operations, added complimentary valet support, deployed additional staff in key event areas, and introduced discounted flat-rate pricing to help residents and visitors get around more easily,” continued Dick.
“These results reflect both the strength of demand in Vancouver and the important role shared micromobility can play when cities are managing high volumes of people during major events.”
