After taking a pause back in 2022, one of Vancouver’s most loved food trucks — Le Tigre — is returning to the city for a special Japanese street food party.

For one night only, the beloved food truck from the team at Torafuku is reuniting with Kei Lowes of Toki Doki for some delicious Japanese eats with a West Coast twist.

Le Tigre will be serving up bites like Grilled Cheese Mochi Skewers, Beet Fries with plum powder and herbs, Wagyu Croquettes, and Shaved Ice with oolong tea creme caramel, brown sugar bubbles, and passionfruit.

As for dishes from Toki Doki, it will be bringing back its Famous Okonomiyaki, Cabbage Caesar Salad (Hispi cabbage, miso Caesar, dengaku sauce, sesame, nori, and lemon), and Ice Cream Cookies made with homemade ginger cookies, vanilla ice cream, yuzu marmalade, and kinako.

When it comes to the vibe, the team said: “think Japanese yatai after dark — casual, lively, a little messy, and very delicious.”

The event takes place at Torafuku on Monday, Oct. 26, and reservations are available online now.

Le Tigre was best known for its selection of Asian-inspired eats like rice bowls, stuffed housemade buns, and dumplings.

As for Toki Doki, the truck was known for its Japanese street food inspired by Lowes heritage and the people, places, and mentors who shaped his journey.
