67-year-old hospitalized after late night shooting in Surrey

Police are investigating after a break-and-enter and shooting that occurred on Saturday in Surrey.

According to the Surrey RCMP, the incident occurred at approximately 2:55 am. Frontline officers were called to a break-and-enter and shooting in the 5800 bocks of 129 Street.

When police officers arrived on the scene, they located a 67-year-old man “suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.”

He was rushed to the hospital where RCMP say he remains in critical, but stable condition.

The suspect involved in the incident reportedly fled the residence before police arrived. He’s described by the suspect as a large man, tall and skinny, with a black shirt and black pants.

Police say that investigators are still working to determine if the shooting was targeted and if the suspect was the intended victim.

The victim currently isn’t known to police.
