Here's what's open and closed in Vancouver for the Labour Day long weekend

The last long weekend of summer is just around the corner in Vancouver, and it’s set to be a good one!

Family get-togethers, days at the beach, BBQs, and more — there’s a lot to do this Labour Day long weekend around town.

Translink

TransLink buses, SeaBus, and SkyTrain services will continue to operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Holiday fares will be in effect, so commuters will only need a 1-Zone fare to travel across all zones. However, the West Coast Express will not be running.

TransLink Customer Service Centre, Access Transit Customer Care Office, and Lost Property Office will be closed.

Community centres

Hours will vary depending on the community centre. Check the Labour Day long weekend hours here.

Pools

Labour Day is your last chance to go swimming with your family and friends at several outdoor public pools. The following three pools close on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

• New Brighton
• Second Beach Pool
• Maple Grove Pool

On Wednesday, the Park Board said that it would be keeping Kits Pool open for a bit longer this season, giving locals the chance to enjoy the iconic swimming spot beyond Labour Day.

In its updated statement, the Park Board said it’s “pleased to make the necessary operational and staffing adjustments” to allow the pool to stay open until Sept. 7.

Other places that are closed

• Government offices like Canada Post and City Hall
• Banks
• ICBC will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday
• Public libraries will be closed on Labour Day, except for the Carnegie Branch, which does not close.
