Kanye tweets he's running for president in the 2020 election

Musician and clothing designer Kanye West announced Saturday that he intends to run in the 2020 US presidential election.

The rapper made the announcement in a tweet just before 6 pm, and it appears his campaign slogan could be #2020VISION.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” he said. “I am running for president of the United States Flag of United States!”

Tesla founder Elon Musk quickly replied that West has his full support.

It’s not clear whether West will run with a party, or whether he’s started the process of becoming registered as a candidate.

Either way, jokes about the Kardashians being America’s “First Family” just got a little closer to becoming reality.
