Jurassic World 3 will be filmed in Vancouver next year

Jurassic World 3 is set to come to Vancouver early next spring, and it is definitely something to get excited about.

The third film, whose working title is Arcadia, will be partly filmed right here in Hollywood North.

The Universal Studios film will be directed by Colin Trevorrow, and it is going to be filming around Metro Vancouver between February 24 and March 6.

The film was originally shot in Hawaii, and it will still be partly filmed on the island as well as at Pinewood Studios in London, and in Malta.

When we last left the Jurassic World franchise, many of the dinosaurs escaped and were unleashed beyond the confines of the island to wreak havoc at the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Many of the key actors from the original movie are set to return, which means you may be seeing some of Hollywood’s biggest stars walking around the streets of Vancouver early next year.

Confirmed to return to the movie are Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, joined by Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda, as well as new additions to the franchise including Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise.

Members of the original Jurassic Park cast, including Laura Dern, Sam Neill, BD Wong, and Jeff Goldblum, will also be returning to the film’s third installment.

Universal Studios released a short film — Battle at Big Rock — earlier this year, which sets up the upcoming film, takes place one year after the events of the last Jurassic World film in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world.

Jurassic World 3 will hit theatres on June 11, 2021.
