Vancouver Canucks forward JT Miller has been recognized by the National Hockey League as one of the league’s Three Stars of the Week.

Named the Third Star of the Week, behind Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl and Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos, Miller tied for the second-most points in the NHL last week with seven points in four games.

Miller, who is on a six-game point streak, earned at least a point in every game last week — including three straight multi-point efforts against the Blues, Sharks, and Islanders.

His goal against the Islanders on Saturday was his 20th of the season, marking the fourth time in his career that he has reached the 20-goal plateau. That’s already a huge improvement over last season, where Miller scored just 13 times in 75 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Miller is second on the Canucks in scoring this season with 53 points, just two points back of Elias Pettersson for the team lead. Overall, the 26-year-old is tied for 19th in the NHL in points.

This is the second time this season that a Canucks player has been recognized by the NHL’s weekly honour, as Pettersson was named First Star of the Week on November 4.

Miller has been a major reason for the Canucks’ success this season — the team is currently in first place in the Pacific Division and second in the Western Conference with 65 points in 53 games.
