Vancouver's largest comedy festival is throwing a free block party this weekend

If you’re willing to brave the Vancouver weather, then there’s a free party that has your name on it.

JFL NorthWest, Vancouver’s largest comedy festival, has announced the return of their beloved block party.

The event takes place this week on Friday, February 15 and Monday, February 18 at šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn, formerly known as the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza.

Attendees can expect a beverage garden featuring beer, spirits, and free hot beverages from Tim Hortons, a selection of food trucks, an LED games tent, and free giveaways and prizes.

To liven up the atmosphere, DJ Flula!, one of the stars of Pitch Perfect 2 will be performing two DJ sets at the event.

Also new to the festivities is a Pop-Up Party being held at Ackery’s Alley, beside the Orpheum Theatre, taking place on Thursday, February 14 and Tuesday, February 19.

The pop-up party will have $5 cans of bomber beer, free hot beverages, and live music from a number of artists.

The JFL NorthWest Block party will run on Friday, February 15 from 5 to 10 pm, and Monday, February 18 from 5 to 8 pm.

The pop-up party on Thursday, February 14 runs from 5 to 8 pm, and Tuesday, February 19 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm.

Both events are free to attend.
