Botchford’s colleagues in the media have since met for an evening to remember him at Rogers Arena, hosted by the Vancouver Canucks and MC’d by his longtime friend from TSN 1040, Jeff Paterson.

And now there’s an event for his many loyal fans.

A Tribute to Jason Botchford will be held at the Commodore Ballroom in downtown Vancouver on Thursday, June 20, to celebrate the life of the longtime Canucks beat writer. The event will be hosted by Mike Halford and Jason Brough, TSN 1040 co-hosts and colleagues of Botch at The Athletic.

The event is taking place one day before the NHL Draft in Vancouver, so it is sure to attract a number of hockey fans and media in town for the event. Tickets are $20 and are available on Ticketmaster beginning Thursday at 12 pm PT.

“We are going to throw a party that Botch would be proud of including Canucks panels with audience Q&A, music, and comedy,” event organizers announced.

“Thanks to generous donations from the Vancouver Canucks, we’ll be auctioning off several great prizes with 100% of the proceeds from the auction and ticket sales donated to the Botchford Family Fund.”

The list of performers have yet to be revealed.
