Jagmeet Singh wants to designate the Proud Boys a terrorist group
Federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh has created an online petition encouraging Canada to label the Proud Boys a terrorist organization.
The Proud Boys are members of a far-right political organization that was founded by Canadian Gavin McInnes. After seeing pro-Trump supporters storm the US Capitol on Wednesday, Singh wants to have the neo-fascist group classified as a terrorist organization.
“Yesterday was an act of domestic terrorism. The Proud Boys helped execute it,” Singh tweeted. “Their founder is Canadian. They operate in Canada, right now.”
