For once, something fun is available in your region — with music for Facebook and Instagram stories finally available in Canada.

Facebook announced today the launch of music stickers on Facebook and Instagram Stories and videos, to help Canadians express themselves and share the music they love.

When searching for a song to include in a video or story, Facebook has made a collection of Canadian music and artists available for you to add to your social soundtrack, including beloved Canadian icons, chart-topping artists, as well as Indigenous artists.

To use the feature, all you have to do is open the camera on Facebook or Instagram, or select a photo or video from your gallery, touch the sticker icon, add the Music sticker and search from a library of songs.

If the song has lyrics, they will automatically pop up, and you can use the lyrics as a reference point to select the section of the song you’d like to include.

You can tap the lyrics to change the animation and text style, and move the lyrics around, rotate or resize it like you would a normal sticker.

On Facebook, you can also pin songs to your profile to give friends insights into your musical taste, and on Instagram, friends can even reply to question stickers with songs from the music library.

Instagram also now has new visual effects in the Music format on Stories that respond to beat and sound.

IG stories just got a whole lot better.
