Homicide investigators are looking into the death of a Surrey man who was found by mental health officers on patrol Thursday evening.

According to a Surrey RCMP news release, their Police Mental Health Outreach Team was doing a foot patrol around 8 pm on Bridgeview Drive just north of King George Boulevard when they came across the dead body.

“The cause of death and circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries are under investigation and are being treated as suspicious,” Cpl. Joanie Sidhu said.

Surrey RCMP has passed the file to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, which investigates all murders in the Lower Mainland.

Sidhu said police are still gathering evidence, and no additional information is available right now. Anyone who knows what happened to the man should contact IHIT at 1‐877‐551 4448 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
