IHIT investigating after fatal assault at Surrey home

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has launched an investigation following a fatal assault at a home in Surrey.

Police say that they responded to a report of an assault on Wednesday, shortly after 8:30 pm. The victim was found critically injured outside of a residence on the 5500 blocks of 125 Street.

Surrey RCMP frontline officers performed CPR, administered an AED, and an ambulance attended and provided treatment for the man as well. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The initial indications are that both parties are known to one another,” reads a statement from the Surrey RCMP.
