New ICBC data reveals Metro Vancouver's most dangerous roads

Jul 29 2020, 6:56 pm

New information from ICBC has revealed the most dangerous streets and intersections across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

In what the company calls its “commitment to increase transparency,” the Crown Corporation has released data that includes crash history and vehicle population in British Columbia.

The data includes all recorded crashes between 2015 and 2019. It can be filtered by the municipality, as well as into crashes that involve motorcycles, cyclists, and pedestrians. It also reveals which roads and intersections in Metro Vancouver have had the most crashes.

What the data doesn’t include, however, is crashes that occur in parking lots or that involve parked vehicles.
