Police are investigating after human remains were found inside a vehicle in Burnaby on Wednesday.
According to Burnaby RCMP, the investigating began when officers were called to the 5000-block of Thorne Avenue for a report that human remains had been located in a vehicle.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was also called in and will be working in partnership with Burnaby RCMP to investigate, police said.
At this point, investigators said that based on the evidence thus far, they don’t believe the incident is random, and don’t believe there is any danger to the general public.

As the investigation continues, police said they are currently in the evidence gathering phase, and as such said no further information will be provided at this time.
